Unlike Apple, Android took a long time to introduce battery health to its flagship phones. Most complaints we receive are regarding battery draining, and the main reason behind that is the degraded battery. If your Samsung battery starts responding abruptly, consider it as a battery fault, and the battery needs immediate attention, whether you need to replace it or get it checked with the technician.
Another thing that Samsung One UI can improve is to display the amount of battery degraded in numbers, like iOS/iPadOS, currently, you will get to see only two statuses, Good or Bad. It’s better to keep track of battery health by going through the below steps before the device goes dead.
How to Check Battery Status on Samsung S23, S22, Z Flip 5, Fold
Keep note that before checking the battery status, we’d recommend updating the device to the latest version available. Go to the Settings app > Software Update > Check for Software Updates.
Method 1: From Settings App
This is the easiest way to check the battery health of the Samsung Galaxy S23, S22, Z Flip, Fold, or any other flagship phone.
- Navigate to the Settings app.
- Tap Device Care.
- Find and select Diagnostics.
- Select Battery status.
- Wait for a few seconds until the system refreshes to the current battery status.
- Next to Life, there will be two options, Good or Bad. Consider it as the battery status of your Samsung device.

- Download Samsung Members App from Google Play or Samsung Galaxy Store.
- Use your Samsung Account to Sign In.
- Look for the Support button and tap on it.
- Tap the View test button.
- Tap on Battery status.
