Fix Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Overheating Issue
Avoid Using Cases and Covers
Bulky Cases can be the reasons why your Galaxy Watch 5 Pro overheating and battery draining. There are multiple cases available in the market to safeguard the Watch from daily wear and tear and scratches. In order to give protections, sometimes we end up buying hefty case and it leaves no space for heat to dissipate. Its better, you should remove the case for a while and then put it back.
Put Watch on Airplane Mode
Most complaints are coming from the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE models, and here LTE is certainly the culprit behind the overheating. Try to avoid calls from Watch itself, because it consumes more battery comparatively and keep the Watch connected to phone via Bluetooth.
As of right now, immediately enable the Airplane mode on Samsung Watch and let it cool.

If it is reported by hundreds or thousands of users, then Samsung must have rolled out a fix. Secondly, due to incompatibility between apps and operating systems, this type of malfunction often happens and leads to major damage. Before it’s too late, let’s check for the updates.

Wireless Services like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS run in the background in order to keep you updated with necessary notifications and details. Even if they consume a small part of Galaxy Watch 5’s battery, overall it will affect its performance and hence the system overheats upon continuous usage.
For a time or when not needed, turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS of Samsung Watch 5. Few services will be interrupted but this is strongly recommended.
- Go to Settings > Connections in Samsung Watch 5 and disable all of three services.
Disable Health Tracking
Samsung Watch 5 is primarily meant to track health and fitness and to do so, it uses multiple Sensors. We’d suggest you disable the Health Tracking Sensors to cut down the battery usage and ultimately to control the overheating issue of the Samsung Watch 5. Avoid Using Always On Display
For ease of use, Samsung has designed Always On Display, you don’t have to press any button to check the time or notification. The display stays on with time and certain other features, which directly affects the battery all the time and overheats the system. Disable Always On Display, for some time and observe.
- Pull down the Quick Panel from top edge.
- Tap on Always On Display button to turn it off. It looks like a Watch.
Disable Voice Assistants
Voice Assistants like S Voice and Bixby always proactively respond to your commands. We don’t need to press any button to wake up S Voice or Bixby Assistant, however, this comes at a cost of continuous battery consumption. The more power it drains, the more it will overheat.
- Go to the Bixby Voice or S Voice in your Galaxy Watch 5.
- Tap on three dots.
- Turn Off Voice Wake-Up.
