Fix Instagram Try again later issue on iPhone, Android

Instagram, one of the greatest social apps connecting tones of users around the world, a medium to promote businesses, a platform to share photos and videos, and of course the biggest source of entertainment. Creating and managing the Instagram account is pretty easy unless you’ve over actively liked or commented on the posts, in that case, the Instagram Policies might stop you from accessing the account and show various error messages.

Force Stop Instagram

Force Stopping Instagram will terminate the Instagram process and settings right away. Unfortunately, Apple devices don’t have any setting to force stop the Instagram however, they can close the Instagram app from App Switcher.

Android: Open the Settings app > Apps or Applications > open Instagram > Force Stop.

For iPhone, bring the App Switcher on the screen, press the home button, or swipe up from the lower middle of the screen and swipe up the Instagram app.

Log Out and Log In

This one’s the best and quickest ways to avoid the Instagram Try Again Later error is to log out and log in to the Instagram Account.

  1. Open the Instagram app.
  2. Tap on the profile.
  3. Tap on hamburger.
  4. Go to Settings.
  5. Select Log out.

Once you’re done, open the Instagram app, and enter the login credentials to get access to the Instagram profile.

Clear Instagram Cache

Cache is the files that support the Instagram App to run smoothly, however, sometimes, this cache interrupts the performance of the Instagram App and causes random trouble. Clearing cache is only limited to Android phones, but is not available for iPhone and iPad users.

  1. Go to the Settings.
  2. Tap Apps or Applications.
  3. Locate and tap Instagram.
  4. Tap Storage.
  5. Select Clear Cache.

Use Alternate Device

What if Instagram has blocked your device’s IP Address? If Instagram detects irregular and irrelevant activities from a device, due to its policies, it might block the IP address of the device and won’t give access.

Nowadays, many people use Instagram on the desktop versions, so if you have a PC or Laptop around you, visit Instagram on any web browser and try to log in.

Disable VPN

Not all apps work correctly with the VPN, especially social media apps. While VPN is enabled, you’re trying to access the Instagram App, then disable the VPN for once, and then recheck if the Try Again Later Instagram error has been resolved or not.

Change Instagram Password

This sounds weird, but changing the Instagram Password may give you access without interrupting you with the same error message, Try Again Later. If you cannot access Instagram on the mobile app, then open it on the web browser, and log in.

  1. Login to your Instagram Profile on a web browser.
  2. Go to the Instagram profile.
  3. Tap on the settings
  4. Select Change Password.
  5. Change the password.
  6. Try again reaching the Instagram profile in the app.

Report Issue to Instagram

Often, Instagram blocks the account for no reason, if you feel like you haven’t broken any rule, and using Instagram casually with excessive likes and comments, you should immediately report the issue to the Instagram Support Center.   1. Open the Instagram App.
  2. Tap on your profile.
  3. Tap on the hamburger
  4. Choose Settings.
  5. Go to Help.
  6. Select Report a problem.
  7. Attach a screenshot of the error message, and brief the issue to Instagram.
  8. Tap Submit.

There are very few ways to prove that you’re an authentic Instagram user and not a bot. You can try linking the Facebook account to Instagram and check for the error again.

  1. Go to the Instagram App.
  2. Tap on your profile.
  3. Hit the hamburger menu button.
  4. Tap on Settings.
  5. Tap on Account.
  6. Select Sharing to other apps.
  7. Tap on Facebook and follow the on-screen instructions to link Facebook with Instagram.

Furthermore, linking websites and apps to Instagram may interrupt your account, therefore, only link the apps and websites to Instagram which you find important and revoke access from unnecessary apps and websites.

  1. Open the Instagram App.
  2. Tap on your profile.
  3. Tap on hamburger
  4. Go to Settings.
  5. Select Security.
  6. Tap Apps and websites.
  7. Go to Active and unlink the website/apps from your Instagram profile.
